Effective December 15, 2010, Commence will be changing the way it sells and licenses its desktop software in North America. After this date, the Designer Edition product will only be offered as a subscription service where it is licensed for use for a specific period of time or term. The product will no longer be sold as a perpetual license. Notice of this change was sent out to customers in January 2010 and again on November 2. This change only affects new customers, i.e. those that have never conducted business with Commence before and those customers that do not have an annual software maintenance agreement in place that provides product updates and enhancements.

Commence will continue to support, enhance and offer additional licenses to customers under the current perpetual license agreement as long as they remain current and renew their annual software maintenance plan each year. After the above date, customers using discontinue versions or a version of the product prior to the current version RM 4.0, can still upgrade their software, but only under the new subscription license agreement.
