Commence was a pioneer in this area and was the first CRM software company to offer what became known as a fully "disconnected client". Today new technology has paved the way for expanded access to desktop software from remote PC's, Mac's, hand held devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs.
What is remote access software?
Remote access software provides wireless access to desktop software programs from mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs. Due the expanded use of these devices, several companies now offer third party solutions that work well with the desktop software environment. While there are several alternatives available two that have received positive customer reviews are GoToMyPc and LogMeIn. Both are software programs that enable you to access desktop software remotely.
The products offer remote access to your desktop so that you can open files, check your e-mail, and run programs from your mobile device or computer over the Internet.

Has Commence tested these products?
Commence has tested them for access to our most current version RM 4.0 and they appear to work well for remote access from a PC or Apple Mac. We have not tested access via an iPhone or Android devices. This requires an additional add-on component from the companies.

| The data center used to host your solutions is engineered to the highest levels, with extensive systems to address security and network redundancy, enabling Commence to offer a 99.9% infrastructure availability guarantee. The physical facility consists of industrial grade blast resistant concrete that conforms to the strictest physical security standards. Security Access to data center is restricted by two-factor authentication including Biometric hand scanners. The data center is physically isolated from everyone but level three technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. All entrances and common areas are monitored 24x7 via closed-circuit cameras.
Precision Environment The data centers' HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems are N+1 redundant to ensure that - even in the event of an entire HVAC system failure - there is a duplicate system on standby to take over. All air is circulated and filtered every 90 seconds to remove dust and contaminants. An advanced fire-suppression system is in place to prevent any fire from spreading - in the unlikely event that one could start. All cables to servers and routing equipment are securely tied down and cable racks suspended from the ceiling provide dual routes for all cables.
Conditioned Power The power systems are designed to run uninterrupted even in the unlikely event of a total power outage. All servers are fed with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power that will run if utility power fails. The UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant with instantaneous fail over in case the primary UPS fails. In the event of an extended power outage, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely. Generators are regularly tested to ensure functionality in the event of an emergency.
Core Routing Equipment We use only fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment housed in its own secure, core routing room and fed with its own redundant power supply. Our fiber carriers enter the facilities at disparate access points to ensure that there is no service failure, even in the unlikely event of a fiber cut.
