Selecting the right CRM solution for your business can be a challenging exercise. You don’t want to select a CRM system that you will quickly outgrow and at the same time you do not want to purchase one where you will be paying for functionality that your staff will never use. Yet this is often the scenario for many companies.

“We are getting a lot of calls from both camps” says Tom Gibson, sales manager at Commence Corporation. “The small businesses either did not have the time to do a proper evaluation or perhaps simply misunderstood what they were getting with the low cost solutions now on the market. The low end CRM products traditionally offer little in the way of flexibility or customizability and this is by design.

The solution provider simply cannot afford to take telephone calls or add the functionality these customers desire at their low price point. These are out of the box solutions and either you like what they offer or you don’t. What is clear however is that there are a large number of companies that are unhappy with what they have and are looking to change.”

“Many of the mid-size customers that call us had selected Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce.com and are paying quite a bit of money for their solution. Almost all of them indicate that they are simply not using the functionality they thought they would and as such, are looking for a capable but lower cost solution. Commence CRM fits the bill nicely for these people.” says Gibson. “We are that middle component in that we offer much more functionality and flexibility than the low end CRM systems, but not the complexity and cost associated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce.com. We have been positioned as that middle market CRM solution from day one” says Gibson “and it’s a good place to be. Of course we would rather earn this business in year one, and in many instances we are, but we seem to be getting more and more calls in that second year when the big renewal invoice is presented to these customers and they decide they need to change CRM vendors.”

(Customers Save 15% or More on CRM Software)

Leading CRM software provider Commence Corporation is taking a page out of a popular insurance industry pitch and challenging customers looking at cloud based CRM software to compare Commence CRM to Salesforce CRM, then ask themselves why they would pay more for a similar service.  Commence CRM has quickly gained popularity among mid-market companies looking for a robust web based CRM solution at an affordable price point. While Salesforce.com introduced their online CRM software several years earlier then Commence, Commence’s online CRM has been winning business against the higher cost Salesforce CRM software.

What customers seem to like about Commence CRM is the flexibility to select only the applications and features they need at this time, versus being forced to pay for functionality that they have no interest in.  In addition, customers seem to like the user interface and ease of use of Commence CRM and the fact that the program is available as a hosted web based CRM solution or as an on premise CRM solution.  Commence is also considerably less expensive for similar CRM functionality and is becoming one of the most talked about CRM solution providers.   To learn more about Commence’s cloud based CRM software visit the Commence.com web site.

Commence Takes on Salesforce.com CRM

Salesforce competitor“Customer surveys have indicated that small to mid-size businesses are troubled by the so called “pay by the drink” pricing model of competitors. They are more interested in a structure that allows them to purchase a block of licenses up-front so that they can add users at a later date at no additional cost. As a hosting provider we are more concerned with bandwidth utilization then the actual number of users, so a site license or a block license approach makes sense for both parties,” says Larry Caretsky, president of Commence Corporation.

Commence’s entry into the hosted CRM On-Demand race spells more bad news for market leader SalesForce.com. Commence is an established software manufacturer that has been providing departmental CRM solutions for nearly twenty years. The company’s products have been sold under private label by major corporations such as IBM, Compaq Computer and Lucent Technologies. Commence recently migrated their popular client server solution to the web and has a wealth of experience in the SMB sector along with a large established customer base and a channel of value added resellers that can provide regional support services.

Commence Corporation, (www.commence.com), a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software has announced a unique pricing program targeted at small to mid-size businesses. Unlike traditional hosted CRM solutions that charge a monthly fee for each user, Commence is offering a small – midsize business site license program that will enable customers to add users at no additional cost. Site licenses start at a five user level and require an annual contract.

“We are excited about entering this space with Commence On-Demand…competition almost always results in better products and more favorable buying conditions for customers. We understand the SMB space and their requirement for dedicated support. We are confident that businesses will be impressed by its comprehensive functionality, ease of use, and low cost of ownership,” asserted Caretsky.

Commence CRM Available On Premise or On Demand

When customers refer to hosted CRM software they are traditionally referring to web based CRM that is managed and maintained by the CRM vendor at their data center in a cloud computing environment, but hosted does not necessarily mean it has to be maintained by the vendor.

Commence Corporation, a leading provider of Customer Management software, offers customers the ‘Freedom of Choice’ to deploy their CRM solution on premise or on demand.  “Most of our smaller and mid-size customers utilize our hosted, cloud-based CRM offering”, says Todd Pape, Chief Technology Officer at Commence, “but many larger ones prefer to manage and maintain the software themselves in-house or on premise.  Commence CRM is an attractive offering for these firms because this option is not available from competitors like Salesforce.com.  We are beginning to see a lot more interest in the on-premise offering due primarily to the high annual costs associated with Salesforce.com”, he concluded.  For more information about Commence CRM Software, visit http://www.commence.com/.

Commence CRM review from About.com marketing consultant and social media marketing strategist Laura Lake

Laura Lake, About.com Guide says

I like Commence. It’s a nice system that provides account and contact management, calendar solution, marketing, sales automation and lead management. I do love that Commence offers email and mobile device integration as well as integration with accounting systems. They offer both a desktop CRM as well as a web based solution that they call Commence CRM On-Demand. Commence is not new to the industry, it has actually been around for over 20 years and has been private labeled for many well known companies. For companies that desire the advanced features of a CRM Commence is a great solution and affordable.

Tinton Falls, N.J. (MMD Newswire) November 4, 2010 — Commence Corporation a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management software (CRM) is continuing to gain popularity and win decisions among small to mid-size businesses. This is being driven by the companies comprehensive product offering coupled with a flexible option for deployment of the CRM software. “Many companies are not quite sure whether they want a web based CRM solution or an on-premise one” says Larry Caretsky, president of Commence Corporation. “It’s a big decision and one that can impact the value they will realize from the software. During the evaluation process companies tend to focus their energy on feature comparisons and price, but there are pros and cons associated with both on premise or on demand deployment that should also be considered. There is no right or wrong” continued Caretsky, “but some companies may be better served with a web based hosted solution while others an on premise one. What’s unique about Commence is that we offer both, providing customers with freedom of choice.”

One of the ways Commence differentiates itself is by spending quality time with every prospective customer, educating them and guiding them though the selection process so that they make the best decision for their business. “We don’t think CRM software should be purchased with a credit card over the Internet” said Tom Gibson, senior Account Manager at Commence. “Our approach of educating and partnering with new customers has resulted in higher quality implementations, better user adoption and a measurable return on investment.” he concluded.

Commence has been providing CRM software solutions to small and mid-size businesses for more than two decades. The company offers a comprehensive suite of CRM applications for contact management, sales automation, lead management, marketing campaign management, customer service and project management. Integration with Intuit’s QuickBooks is also offered with the on demand offering.
